When it comes to French culture shocks, we're pretty aware of the classics - the French Administration, the smoking... but after having lived in France as an Expat for 5 years now, these things are a pretty standard part of life now! What I hope to do with my French Culture Shock series in dive into the details so you can fully imagine expat life in France.

Salut Friends! As you know I made some pretty ambitious goals for 2018 at the beginning of the year, check out the video here if you haven't seen it:

In a nutshell, the goals were to:
- Become fluent in French (always handy when living in France)
- Apply for the French Nationality (Becoming French)
- Becoming debt free by paying off my student loan
- Attract 30 000 Youtube subscribers to my tribe

It's now time to check-in, re-adjust, and move on to the second half of the year! Exciting times to come!

People often ask me to compare the cost of living in Wellington to the Paris cost of living. The thing is, there's more to finances than just the base expenses of living in Paris (rent, electricity)... there's what you spend your money on (or no longer spend your money on) because it's in the culture.

This video is all about the things you don't need to buy anymore when you're living in Paris / France. It's another insight into my lifestyle in Paris France from when I lived there for 6 years until June 2019, the random things I don't buy anymore. I think the way people spend their money is a fascinating insight into their culture so buckle up for some more interesting French culture shocks and insights into the French culture.
